BOWEN ROAD
Bowen Road is a one of the more natural places in Hong Kong. It has many trees, plants and nature in general. This makes it a great place to do things like long distance running. The place has changed significantly, one of the biggest changes being the big increase of construction. Along the walk, there were many construction sites, which were polluting the air, and wasn't good for us. The other main downside was that there were many places to fall and hurt yourself. Even though its unlikely to fall down the face of the cliff, its still very possible whilst running around and messing about, so BE CAREFUL KIDS!
Dispite the downsides, there are many good things about Bowen road, the main thing being, its a great fitness trail. Its long, but not too long. There are many resting places, with seats and shade. There are several rubbish bins, which are very convenient. There also is first and second pagoda. These are like little parks, many seats, big enough for a big gathering, and out of the way of the main road.
Probably the biggest up is the fact that the government have installed many exercise stations which are good for you. Just listing a few, there are monkey bars, pull up bars and a sit up bench. There are all very helpful to maintain a healthy body.
As you will see or will have seen in the video, we have examples of the various exercise equipment and how it works. Overall the equipment is not too difficult, so please ignore Conrad saying stuff is hard, cause he was just being a big baby and complaining too much.
AHM. Anyways... now Conrad is going to rate the various equipment and give a comment about it.
The Spring Up Bars: 8.5/10 The most difficult one of them all, but if done properly, can be very effective.
Verticle Ladder: 5/10 Personally I don't see how climbing up and down a ladder repeatedly can be very effective, but I should keep in mind that the equipment is not designed for people in year 8.
Monkey Bars: 7/10 This one is also quite effective if done properly, and is by far the most fun exercise station.
Jumping Bar 6/10 This is another video we forgot to include in the video (MATT!!!) This one, like the verticle ladder, makes it hard to see how it is effective, but its not designed for me, so I have to consider that.
Sit Up Bench: 9/10 I know most people are going to think I am crazy for rating the sit up bench so high, but personally I love doing sit ups, and its probably the most effective of them all.
Balance Beam: 7.5/10 The beam was closed due to the construction happening right next to it. But by judging it on past experiences, it helps improve balalce quickly.
Pull Up Bars: 8/10 Sorry we forgot this one in the video as well, but its not different to your regular pull up bars, where you do pull ups. This helps strengthen your arms quickly, and the only thing keeping them from being 10/10 is that they are quite difficult.
Tennis Court: 7.5/10: This would be a 10/10 if everyone in Hong Kong played Tennis, but, not everyone does, and I don't, so I can't really make a comment.
