PO KONG VILLAGE ROAD PARK
Po Kong Village Road Park, is a park (believe it or not) with a huge array of sports and exercise facilities. It is quite big for a man made park. Its made mainly for the people who live nearby.
Po Kong Village Road Park has not really been through many changes, since its man made. So lets talk about the facilities.
The park has a total of about 21 exercise stations, but we are going to talk about the 14 most effective and beneficial ones.
Running Path: 8.5/10: Its a long red track that goes all around the park that measures 650 meters. Running is very effective for your cardio health, but the track has many holes in it, making it possible to trip and hurt yourself.
Cycling Track: 9/10: VERY FUN. Cycling is not very easy to do in Hong Kong, at least, safer cycling, mainly due to congestion on the streets. Here its a 1 kilometer long cycling track, with a flat part, and challenging up hill part, and a rewarding long slope.
Football Pitch: 9/10: I am quite the bias when it comes to football, but its not only the football, its the fact that its a huge pitch, and has the capability to be used for many other sports.
Cricket Area:7/10: Cricket is a great sport, and it doesn't really have the space to be played in HK. There is a small narrow cricket area to practice throwing and batting. The only problem is its restricted to cricket only, and its quite small.
Tai Chi Wheels: 5/10: Its simple, there are 2 wheels, like car steering wheels, and you spin them with your arms, pretty straight forward. Ah brings back good memories.*
Stepping Platform: 3/10: This is a platform where you walk on the sport, an activity which can be done almost anywere, no point really.*
Upper Back Stretch: 3/10: Again, an activity that can be done almost anywhere, I don't see the point.*
Multistretch Facility: 6/10: This facility is more effective as it has some tools for stretches that can't just be done by yourself.
*
Pull Down Machine: 5/10: You pull down some bars, which I can see as being kind of effective, but not much really.*
Rider: 5/10: Apart from having a lot of fun on it and making yourself look very silly, I fail to see how it helps.*
Ring Walk: 5/10: Similar to monkey bars, except your walk and move your hand from ring to ring.*
Pebbel Walking Trail: 6/10: Its a different kind of walk, and if helps your feet.
Parallel Bars: 7/10: These bars can be used for many things to strengthen your arms, and is very good.
Balance Beam: 8/10: This time it wasn't closed, and it, like I said last time, helps improve balance.
The Park has an Eco area, where they use renewable energy to reduce carbon emissions and bad stuff like that.
*The facilities typed in red are in the elderly corner, so I can't really have an accurate say until I'm older.
